TIP
OF THE MONTH: Benefits of Reusable Water Bottles
It's a
great thing that more people have become conscious about
their drinking water. With all the news that pipe-fed
water supply into our homes is not as safe and clean as
we once thought (not to mention its bad taste), most
people now have a filtration system of one kind or
another, whether it be a sink faucet filter or a
filtered pitcher to help remove chlorine and other
contaminants like hydrogen sulfide. Some people even
live off of bottled water, which you'd be right to
assume gets pretty expensive. And while bottled water
certainly is a life saver on the go, there are two
drawbacks to purchasing plastic bottled water. First, if
you are out and about, there's a good chance there won't
be a recyclable trash can nearby to dispose your
finished water bottle in. Indeed, this is amounting to
an increased amount of plastic in landfills that could
otherwise be recycled. Secondly, we are now finding that
many of these plastic water bottles are leaching their
own chemicals, including probable human carcinogens and
endocrine and hormone disruptors. The solution: reusable
water bottles. There are several out there, but we've
found the best to be Sigg's stainless steel bottles,
which are carried at
