| One of the best ways to clean the air inside your home, car or personal space is with the help of air purifiers, which can remove contaminated dust particles as little as .1 microns. While some of the impure air inside our homes is brought in from outdoor air pollution, a portion of it is also due to outgassing of many common home fixtures like furniture, bedding, and carpeting adhesives. For those of you unfamiliar with the term "outgassing", it refers to the process by which products will begin to emit gaseous compounds of which they are composed into the air. For instance, as we explain in our organic living section, carpet adhesives and certain treatments will begin to outgas the chemical compound, Formaldehyde, after prolonged exposure in a room temperature environment. Certainly there are ways of keeping this from happening - taking out your carpet being one of them. However, for most of us, a more realistic option would be to make use of clean air products, such as ionizers and air filters. Of all the clean air products available for inside the home, whole house air purifiers are the most effective option. While we don't want you to think your home is a toxic factory, let's just say that it never hurts to make use of the broad array of clean air products currently available, and to give the air you breathe into your lungs a good round of purification. |
